The kids.....recently.

Sometimes I get to thinking about how wonderful children are and the many blessing they bring into our lives. I feel so fortunate to be able to spend so much time with them in these precious years. Sure, there are times I have had it up to here ^ with the crying and fussing, and dirty diapers, and cleaning the same mess over and over and over, and the fits. But, there are also the many special moments when I get to watch them learn to talk, walk, and figure out this crazy world. These are the times that allow you to forget about the hard parts of being a parent (esp. stay at home moms) and remember that children are such a blessing and remind us that everyone starts out innocent and good. These are the times that I wish they would stay little forever, and never have to experience hurt. I wanted to write all this as a reminder to myself, to treasure this time...it won't be here forever! Here is Landon, 5 months old....just being happy!

Jason's big 3-1 !!

Yes, that's right folks, my hubby is officially in his thirties. I tend to enjoy the fact that he is older than me (I will not state exactly HOW much older he is) because it keeps me feeling young. I mean, at least I can always say I am the young one in the relationship...it allows me to get away with things! haha!
Jason mentioned to me yesterday (his actual b-day) that he looked at himself in the mirror and realized he is actually looking younger with age! haha! He may be getting older, but he isn't letting that change his perspective nor his sense of humor! As you can see Jaedyn is serious about helping Jason open his presents!
So, I took Jason out to one of our favorite places for special occasions, Red Prime. It's an awesome atmosphere and we're always given a private booth and extremely delicious food.

Jason with his birthday creme brulee. It was fabulous!
And finally to end the evening, he's modeling for me...not bad for a guy over 30! =) I'm lucky to have such a great husband and wonderful dad to my kids! Happy Birthday sweetie!

Landon's 5 month checkup

So, my big boy had his check up yesterday and I was really anxious to find out his weight and height and see where he was percentile wise. Let me tell you, Landon has always been a pretty decent size. He was 8 lbs. 15oz. and 21 inches long when he was born. At his 2 1/2 month check up he was 15 lbs. 2 oz. and 24 inches long. (he was off the charts in weight, and 80th percentile in height) And today, he weighed 19 lbs. 1 oz. and was 26 inches long. (this time he was back on the charts for weight, barely...95th percentile and for height he was between 75th and 80th percentile, but whatever his head measured, that was off the charts) haha! I guess somewhere in all those measurements he has to be the biggest at something!
Aside from being healthy, my Landon sure is a sweetie pie!

Jaedyn at MDO

So, Jaedyn started going to Mother's Day Out at the beginning of September. This is her first time to be at "school" of any kind with the exception of Sunday School at church. Which, for any of you who know her, know that getting her to go to S.S. was a hard enough task. She seems to have always been quite attached to her mommy (and who can blame her, really?) Anyway, we started MDO to get Jaedyn used to going to school and to give mommy a little time to get things done. (Another side note I need to include is that she hasn't been a regular nap taker since she was probably 18 months old.)
Her teachers have informed me that Jaedyn doesn't like nap time and usually throws a big crying fit! So, I have tried to work with her on this and explain to her that she doesn't actually have to sleep, she just needs to lay there and be still and quiet. (Once again, for those of you who know her, know that she doesn't like to be quiet or still.) Anyway, today I picked her up and her teacher told me that they had major tears at nap time, and during those tears Jaedyn kept saying she wanted mommy (again, no surprise), but my favorite part of her crying fit is when she said,

"I want my mommy, my mommy is beautiful!!"

I just thought that was the sweetest thing my girl could say! And it definitely made my day!

New

Okay, so we are a little new on the blog scene, but decided to give it a go. A lot has happened to us since we got married. Just a few months after Jason and I got married, we found out we were expecting Jaedyn. Our precious baby girl was born July 14th, 2006. We have enjoyed being parents so much we added a baby boy to our family on May 4th, 2009. For now, Jaedyn and Landon keep us busy, but that's not to say there won't be more someday. We're still thinking about that! :-)
